At the 47th National Podiatry Congress (Donostia–San Sebastián) we presented a poster on iliotibial band syndrome: anatomy, intrinsic and extrinsic factors, clinical tests and conservative care. Sharing cases and evidence with other professionals is part of how we keep the biomechanics we use in clinic up to date.
From poster to clinic
The IT band often hurts runners and people who increase volume or change surface. In clinic it is not only about “stretching the band”: we look at footwear, cadence, hip control and how the foot loads in stance. Congress work helps organise that reasoning and check it against what we see in Priego.
If lateral knee or hip pain appears when running or going downhill, it deserves assessment. Book at Podología Priego.
Note on training activity. This does not replace an individual assessment.
General information: this does not replace an individual podiatry assessment.
